Fog Lake Dakota

542films presents the official music video for Dakota by Fog Lake.

The video is a visual response to the musician’s statement about the track which "evokes an American landscape, alluding to my [Aaron Powell/Fog Lake] experiences constantly moving back and forth from the city to my hometown on the island of Newfoundland. I [Aaron Powell/Fog Lake] had clashing feelings of homesickness and the never-ending battle between wanting to stay and try to make things work or begin again somewhere else."

Matching sentiments influenced the video concept amid relocating closer to my hometown [KFM]. Meandering scenes depict a journey through yearning while trying to make peace with here and there, now and then. Opposing aspect ratios eventually converge, suggesting a return from a daydream, where the wider anamorphic image represents the present and the conflicted analog image represents the past.
